Entry 4.

Am I slow or a fast reader ?

I think, all of us try to be fast reader but it is incredibly. As for me I am fast reader but it means I couldn't catch or understand all of the text I have read .That's why I think some people want to be fast reader but they couldn't comprehend. In my point of view it doesn't matter whether you are fast reader or not,but it's essential how to understand them .

I don't know I am a slow or fast reader.  But if I read new topics carefully, I commence to read it slowly. I can't read them fast the reason is even though I am slow reader. I try to understand the meaning of the thing I read. Being a slow reader is difficult for me. Because I like read prose work books. All in all, I interested in reading a book. To sum up, each person read more books if we want read quickly and clearly.

My computer skills : strengths and                             weaknesses.
During two terms we learned Information technology so we can examine our ICT skills.

In my humble opinion, now I have enough knowledge to work with new technologies. Because I can use Microsoft programs without any difficulties. Also I know computer’s keyboard’s ability, that’s why I can easily use them depending on their functions. Furthermore, I know exactly working with computer’s additional tools, how they join together, give what kind of opportunities  and so on. And I can make any kind of tests, questions , as well as e-books  using iSpring program.

Nevertheless, I have  some weaknesses with ICT which I sometimes face when doing lessons. Sometimes I don’t know the animation program, and Programming, I should understand clearly these programs. I hope to find solution for my problem from  the  next ICT classes.

I have not only weaknesses but also strength with computer. I can work and I hope, after improving my weaknesses, my computer skills will be perfect. In order to improve my skills I find some websites, I recommend this to you.

My first impressions and expectations of                      the university classes.
I remember my first day I felt excited and at the same time I was very nervous because it was my first day in the university and I didn't know any person. My first day in the university was good. When we began our classes, all our coursemates were quiet, nobody talked. The Teacher arrived early. she started the class and after that we introduced ourselves.I am always going to remember that day because I had the opportunity to meet more people and the most important I met the best friends .

Finally, I think that it is natural that on the first day we feel nervous, but the things always have a happy ending, that's why I say that my first day in the university was very good.I recall my first day I felt excited and at once I was very nervous because it was my first day in the university and I didn't know any person. My first day in the university was good. When we began our lesson, all my coursemates were quiet, nobody talked. The Teacher arrived early. This is our first photo with my coursemates.

I think that it is natural that on the first day I feel nervous, but the things always have a happy ending, so  I say that my first day in the university was very good.

Basic English Grammar Rules

Some of the most basic and important English grammar rules relate directly to sentence structure. These rules specify that:
  • A singular subject needs a singular predicate.
  • A sentence needs to express a complete thought.
Another term for a sentence is an independent clause:
  • Clauses, like any sentence, have a subject and predicate too. If a group of words does not have a subject and predicate, it is a phrase.
  • If a clause can stand alone and make a complete thought, then it is independent and can be called a sentence.

  • If clauses do not express a complete thought, they are called dependent clauses. An example of a dependent clause, which is not a sentence, is "when I finish my work." A dependent clause needs an independent clause to make
  • it whole.
So, what are the other basic rules for sentence structure?

Subjects and Predicates

Basic to any language is the sentence, which expresses a complete thought and consists of a subject and a predicate.
  • The subject is the star of the sentence; the person, animal, or thing that is the focus of it.
  • The predicate will tell the action that the subject is taking or tell something about the subject.

Basic Parts of Speech

Once you have a general idea of the basic grammar rules for sentence structure, it is also helpful to learn about the parts of speech:
  • noun names a person, animal, place, thing, quality, idea, activity, or feeling. A noun can be singular, plural, or possessive.
  • pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun, like "I", "you", or "they."
  • verb shows action and can be a main verb or a helping verb, like "were" or "has." Verbs also indicate tense and sometimes change their form to show past, present, or future tense. Linking verbs link the subject to the rest of the sentence and examples are: "appear" and "seem."
  • An adjective modifies a noun or a pronoun. It adds meaning by telling which one, what kind, or describing it in other ways.
  • An adverb will modify a verb and tell more about it, like how much, when, where, why, or how.
  • preposition shows a relationship between nouns or pronouns. It is often used with a noun to show location, like "beside," "in," or "on". It can also show time, direction, motion, manner, reason, or possession.
  • Conjunctions connect two words, phrases, or clauses. Common conjunctions are "and", "but", and "or."

Mention needs to be made about other types of words that are considered by some to be parts of speech.
  • One of them is the interjection. It shows emotion and examples are "hurray", "uh-oh", and "alas."
  • Articles are very useful little words. Indefinite articles are "a" and "an" and "the" is a definite article.
  •
